Rocna Anchors

customer stories

The best theories (and manufacturers’ claims) can be usurped by the unforgiving harshness of the marine environment just when it most matters. Often the best way to make a decision about which product to select is to research what other people have to say.

We thought we’d save you the trouble. Here’s a limited selection of testimonials, from boat users of all types. Power or sail, small or large, cruisers or commercial operators – all are boat users that have made the decision to have the best anchor they can.

Ted Bosch set off across the Southern Ocean from New Zealand to Chile on Capistrano with the confidence inspired by a Rocna 40.   Colin Speedie conducts marine research in the Hebrides onboard yacht Forever Changes. His Rocna 25 was one of the first in Britain.

Boating guru Steve Dashew uses a custom Rocna 115 on 83' Wind Horse. Read this comprehensive write-up with e-mails from Steve.   After six months in the Caribbean using a Rocna 40 on his yacht Whisper, cruiser Dave Wilson sent us this testimonial by e-mail.

Paul Willems of Holland upgraded to a Rocna 25 for 44' Zilver. After a year, he considers his Rocna "the perfect anchor".   Members of the NZ Marauder Association have taken to using Rocna anchors on their boats, and are thrilled with the improvements.

Shayne and Wendy Tobin launched their new world cruiser Waiora with a Rocna 30 on the bow, ready to go.   One of our very first customers, Tony Eggleton installed one of the very first Rocna 40s on his Hatteras 50 Kristina.

Read the letter that John Wicks took the time to write us after testing the Rocna 40 he bought for his 44' ketch Starsong.   After their plow-type failed, professional skipper Andy Tweedy outfitted luxury charter yacht Regal Flyer with Rocna anchors.

Upgrading his anchor gear, Len Storey went with a Rocna 30 for yacht Victory 5. His favorite feature: the Rocna's instant set.   Fresh back from NZ’s Marlborough Sounds, Graham Alderwick was enthused with his new anchor, a Rocna 15 for his yacht Smile.

Read the unsolicited letter that professional manager and skipper Craig Torckler wrote us about the Rocna 40 on 62' motorboat Kialoa.   We'd be hypocrites not to include the story of Rocna designer Peter Smith, and the very first Rocna 55 on his 50' yacht Kiwi Roa.
