Each Rocna is made with great care in Chinese facilities to our stringent specifications and standards, undergoing multiple quality assurance checks during the manufacturing process. Quality control is led by Ningbo Jiada Specialty Metals Ltd, our wholly owned facility in Ningbo. Our staff utilize procedures developed by our head office in Vancouver, and individually inspect every single anchor before it is allowed to leave the factory.
The quality of each Rocna anchor is assured due to the proven and effective Canada Metal quality management system. The accuracy and consistency of the manufacturing process results from our dedication to document control, detailed inspection, strict audit policy and continuous training. We also have a well-established and reliable supply chain capable of meeting our exacting material needs to ensure the completed product exceeds our customer expectations.
The Rocna is an SHHP (Super High Holding Power) type anchor. During seabed testing for classification, Rocna anchors exhibited the highest holding power of any anchor that classification society RINA had ever certified. And when tested to destruction, Rocna anchors exhibit strengths in excess of six times the SHHP proof load requirements.
Currently sizes 55 kg (121 lb) to 110kg (243 lb) (galvanized models only) are fully type approved and classified by RINA. We are currently in the process of updating the Rocna SHHP classification for the full Rocna Original galvanized product range. Please check back soon for updates. A team of trained specialists and welders assemble the Rocna’s three separate elements, fusing them into a massively strong and rigid single-piece anchor. In testing, the welds prove the strongest part of the anchor. Edges and details are hand-worked for a quality finish.
Finished steel anchors then undergo a rigorous nine-step anti-corrosion process, culminating in hot-dip galvanizing. This provides an outer coating of durable pure zinc and a tenacious inner layer of zinc-steel alloy. Rocna stainless steel anchors are hand-polished until they shine with a mirror finish.
The Rocna design requires no inefficient dedicated tip weight – so no expensive complications melting out and remolding lead-tip ballast should you need to re-galvanize the anchor.
